This uses Magic Packets and Wake-on-lan to wake up a ethernet-connected desktop that's currently in either an S1 or S3 sleep state.
You need to send the magic packet from the same Subnet (RCW 3rd floor has 10.155.34.0/23 and 140.142.22.###), and also send the Magic Packet directly to the IP Address of the computer (either use MyIT or the Dynamic DNS suffix clients.uw.edu).

If you need to wake up a computer from a different subnet, you'll want to use this methods in conjunction with Remote Code Execution on an online remote computer in that subnet you have access to (you don't need to kick active users off that computer).

Remote Wake Up Windows 7
- Go to the Start Menu on the Remote computer
- Select the 'Windows Security' option at bottom right (just above log off)
- This should get you to a screen with a bright red Shutdown options drop down at bottom right. You can also get to this screen via Control+Alt+End(Ctrl+Alt+End invokes the CAD combo inside of a remote desktop session; this is handy for logging out of a WS12 box)
- Select 'Restart' from the dropdown. (Be careful not to choose 'Shutdown' or you will need someone physically with the server to restart it.)
Alternatively from the Start Menu run command line you can do 'shutdown /r' which will restart it after 30 seconds.
