Underneath the fanfare of EA's rush to get its titles to launch through Steam, one neat new feature which was quietly added is 'Jibb Smart's Flick Stick.' This controller configuration, which is available for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Steam controllers, can be found in the configuration sub-menu for any joystick or touchpad. This setting allows the player to point the joystick in the relative position they wish to look, though it does require the controller's gyro to take over for the Y-axis.

There were plenty of bugs to be fixed, the most amusing one allowing users to acquire free DLC from the Steam store using an in-game browser. Other issues included the platform hanging or crashing at shutdown time, the user's download region getting set to 'Argentina' in certain settings, and unfriended or blocked users being displayed in a game's activity feed. Valve's new chat filter is still in Beta and was not included in the update.

Users who were unable to use the Steam controller with certain games, even with Big Picture Mode enabled, may be glad to know that Valve fixed an issue with how Steam handles games that launch from 3rd party apps, such as EA's Origin. The devs have also addressed issues with Nintendo Switch controllers locking up when certain games send 'rumble off' commands each frame.

Some are reporting that in certain regions, users are unable to purchase an EA Play subscription, though the cause is currently unclear.
